Terms of Service

About These Terms

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or place orders.

Products

All items are handmade and one of a kind. Colours, shapes, and textures may vary slightly from photos. This is part of what makes each piece unique — not a defect.

Pricing & Payment

All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD). Prices may change without notice, but orders already placed will be honoured at the listed price.

Online card payments, when available, are processed securely by Stripe. Card details never touch our servers — Stripe handles all payment information directly. If online payments are not yet enabled, reserve a piece by emailing melinda@stixandpebbles.com and we'll send an invoice.

Custom Orders

Custom pieces are made to your specifications where possible. A deposit may be required for custom work. Custom items are non-refundable once work has begun, except where required by law.

Intellectual Property

All product photos, descriptions, blog content, and design elements on this site belong to Stix & Pebbles. Don't reproduce them without permission.

Limitation of Liability

Stix & Pebbles is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or purchase of products, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

What We Collect

When you contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, place an order, or chat with Mini Mel, we collect different information depending on what you do:

  • Contact form: name, email address, and the message you send. Your IP address and browser type are also recorded with the submission for spam protection.
  • Newsletter signup: email address only.
  • Orders: name, email, shipping address, and the items you order. When online card payments are enabled, Stripe collects and processes your card details directly — those details do not pass through our servers.
  • Mini Mel chat: your chat messages and Mini Mel's replies are logged so we can improve answers and add new FAQs. Messages are logged with your IP address and country (derived from IP).

How We Use It

We use the information above to respond to your enquiries, fulfil orders, send newsletters you've signed up for, improve the site and the chat assistant, and detect abuse. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Information is shared with these service providers only to operate the site:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, database (D1), AI (Workers AI for Mini Mel), and Turnstile bot protection on forms.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (contact replies, order confirmations, newsletter).
  • Stripe — when online card payments are enabled, payment processing.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics where enabled. It's a privacy-focused, cookieless service that counts page views without tracking individuals or using cross-site trackers. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party retargeting trackers.

Cloudflare Turnstile (a cookieless bot-protection widget) loads on our contact form and newsletter signup. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.

AI Features

The Mini Mel chat and blog content assistant use Cloudflare Workers AI. Chat conversations are logged to our database so we can see what customers are asking and improve responses. Logs include your message, Mini Mel's reply, your IP address, and your country (derived from IP). Messages are not used to train AI models.

Data Retention

We keep information only as long as it's useful: contact form submissions for responding to you, orders for tax and record-keeping obligations, newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, chat logs for improving Mini Mel. You can ask us to delete your data any time.

Your Rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Email us at melinda@stixandpebbles.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also unsubscribe from any newsletter directly from the email — every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping Within Australia

We ship from Irvinebank, QLD via Australia Post. Shipping is calculated by weight and destination and shown at checkout. Most orders are dispatched within 3–5 business days.

International Shipping

We can ship internationally. Costs vary by destination and are calculated at checkout. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

Packaging

Every piece is carefully wrapped and packaged to survive the journey. We use recycled and eco-friendly packaging materials wherever possible.

Returns & Exchanges

Because each item is handmade and unique, we don't accept returns for change of mind. If your item arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days with photos and we'll sort it — replacement, repair, or refund.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by this policy. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If an item is faulty, not as described, or not of acceptable quality, you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair as the law requires.

Lost or Damaged in Transit

If your parcel doesn't arrive or arrives damaged, let us know as soon as possible. We'll lodge a claim with Australia Post and sort it out for you.
